US – Clarion’s Sports Betting USA proves to be a hit with delegates

By - 14 November 2019

New York’s Sports Betting USA & Investor Summit has been hailed a great success after a record number of attendees swelled its ranks for a third year in a row.

The event began with the one-day NYC Sports Betting Investor Summit examining the opportunities and challenges of a wagering industry that could be worth up to $7bn a year by 2025, according to the Summit sponsor Morgan Stanley.
That was followed by two days of debate and networking focused on sports betting that saw record attendances tune in to a stellar line-up of industry speakers.

Among the other highlights of this year’s show were a presentation by New York Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr, who shared his state’s vision for sports betting, and another by retired Senator Raymond Lesniak, who led the charge to legalise sports betting in neighbouring New Jersey.

They were joined by senior executives from leading operators, suppliers and media companies, including William Hill USA, Penn National Gaming and Sportradar, as well as representatives of sporting organisations including the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, PGA Tour, and NASCAR.

Event Director Rory Credland said the show was now a must-attend fixture in the calendar – and would provide a perfect springboard for ICE North America, which takes place in New Orleans on May 13 to 14, 2020.

He added: “The feedback we received about the Sport Betting USA & Investor Summit has been overwhelmingly positive and I’m delighted so many people got so much out of attending.

“We’ve listened very carefully to what people within the industry want to get out of these conferences and I’m confident we are now putting on events that are of real value. It is a crowded marketplace and we realise people have options these days.

“I think ICE North America will be even bigger and better and I’m looking forward to sharing more details about the event and what we’ll be putting on in the Big Easy over the coming weeks and months.”

One of the biggest announcements surrounding the ICE North America event is that the 100-plus-speaker conference program will be available for free in 2020, a move that has been made to eliminate barriers of entry to the industry’s decision makers.
