US – Diamond Jacks Casino given 60 days to reopen in Louisiana

By - 21 February 2022

North American casino operator Peninsula Pacific Entertainment (P2E) has been given a 60 day deadline by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board to reopen its Diamond Jacks Casino and Resorts or risk losing the licence altogether.

Peninsula Pacific Entertainment had wanted to relocate its licence from Bossier City after keeping it closed in May 2020, following the lifting of pandemic restrictions but its request was rejected.

Annulling the company’s licence and retendering it would launch a process that could take up to five years for the state to complete with all the necessary bids and background checks.

Gaming board chairman Ronnie Johns said it was ‘extremely disturbing’ that P2E had not yet determined next steps for the Diamond Jacks property since closing nearly two years ago.
