US – G2E Las Vegas aiming to be first post-pandemic gaming event of 2020

By - 19 June 2020

G2E Las Vegas is planning to go ahead with its October schedule making it the first post-pandemic gaming event in 2020.

G2E’s health and safety plan focuses on show layout/logistics, including floorplans, and recommended booth guidelines; physical distancing, including capacity and flow of people; health screening and medical response; among other pillars.

Global Gaming Expo Event Director Korbi Carrison (Reed Exhibitions), and American Gaming Association’s Senior Director of Events Meredith Pallante said: “The G2E team is working hard to deliver a safe and productive show this October 5 to 8, 2020″ at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. Reed Exhibitions has created a Health & Safety Task Force based on five operational pillars.

“It is promising to see more casinos begin to welcome back guests as the gaming community works to come back stronger and safer than ever. Part of gaming’s recovery will be our ability to come together, which is why we are focused on providing a Global Gaming Expo (G2E) that serves as the event to support recovery for the industry to rebound and thrive.”

“The G2E team is working hard to deliver a safe and productive show this October 5 to 8, 2020 (Education: October 5 to 8 | Expo Hall: October 6 to 8) at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada,” she added. “The American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, co-owners of G2E, are committed to organising events in line with up-to-date guidance from public health officials, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organisation, state and local governments, and the protocols put in place by our network of venue partners.”

Organisers say that in order to prioritise the safety and well-being of guests at their events, Reed Exhibitions has created a Health & Safety Task Force to develop and implement policies and best practices around COVID-19 response and prevention. They are focused on five operational pillars related to health and safety: Show layout/logistics, including floorplans, and recommended booth guidelines; physical distancing, including capacity and flow of people; health screening and medical response; cleaning, sanitisation, and personal protective equipment; conference, special events, and talent handling.

“With these pillars as our framework, we are considering many options to supplement the extensive guidelines and procedures that The Venetian Resort and Sands Expo have developed. We will continue to provide updates from our dedicated Health & Safety Task Force on measures to protect all attendees at G2E,” the event organiser said.
