US – GVC and BetMGM partner with Conscious Gaming to advance responsible gaming solution

Conscious Gaming has announced GVC Holdings as an official partner of PlayPause, a recently launched multi-state responsible gaming tool in the United States. PlayPause will launch with BetMGM, GVC’s U.S. based joint venture with MGM Resorts.

PlayPause is designed to modernise and strengthen the effectiveness of the U.S. gaming industry’s responsible gaming programmes. The solution will be made available to operators and regulators via Conscious Gaming, a new non-profit organisation established by GeoComply.

The PlayPause solution will expand the protective self-exclusion bubble so that as players move from state to state, the protection that they have asked for, can also move with them and enable consumers to self-exclude across multiple states to prevent the incidence of simply crossing a state line and continuing to gamble.

The solution empowers operators to strengthen responsible gaming programmes – and make more data-driven decisions – with greater insights into players that have already self-excluded in one state but need to be recognised and protected if/when they seek to play in another jurisdiction. PlayPause also streamlines the administrative burden and eliminate the silos associated with maintaining numerous separate state-operated self-exclusion databases.
