US – IGT to supply central gaming system to Massachusetts State Lottery Commission

By - 6 December 2016

International Game Technology has signed a new contract with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission to provide a new central gaming system, terminal software applications, and an integrated Internet website to display general Lottery information.

IGT provided the Lottery’s existing central gaming system and lottery terminals in 1996. Over the years, IGT has installed self-service vending machines and currently prints a portion of the Lottery’s instant tickets.

“We look forward to continuing to support one of the world’s most successful lotteries as it modernizes and positions itself for future growth in an ever-evolving environment,” said Jay Gendron, IGT Senior Vice President, WLA North America Lottery. “With this latest technology, we hope to assist the Lottery in achieving even greater efficiency and success in the years ahead.”

Under the terms of the product sale with the Massachusetts Lottery, IGT will provide project management and system integration responsibilities for all aspects of the Lottery’s gaming system conversion. The company will convert the Lottery’s existing central gaming and back-office systems to IGT’s latest systems solutions including a comprehensive business intelligence and analytics tool that provides insights across all sales channels. IGT will also provide technology transfer services to enable Lottery personnel to maintain and support the provided software. In addition, IGT will work with the Massachusetts Lottery to improve its presence on the Internet and enhance its customer relationship management.

The Massachusetts Lottery generated record sales of $5.234bn in its fiscal year 2016 and ranks number one in the world in per capita sales.
