US – Kambi launches at South Philadelphia Turf Club

By - 21 January 2019

Kambi has now opened a sports book at South Philadelphia Turf Club, owned by Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, next to Lincoln Financial Field, the home of Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles and Citizen’s Bank Field, home of the city’s MLB team the Philadelphia Phillies.

Branded as the Parx Race and Sports Book at the South Philadelphia Turf Club, the Kambi sportsbook complements the Turf Club’s current horseracing product, with the 27,000 square foot property brandished with additional TV screens for live sports, modern digital signage, seven teller windows and nine sports betting kiosks.

Kambi Chief Commercial Officer Max Meltzer said: “The prime location of the South Philadelphia Turf Club offers Kambi a unique platform to reach some of Philadelphia’s most passionate sports fans who when going to support their teams also want some skin in the game.”

“Today’s successful launch provides further evidence of Kambi’s ability to deliver for its partners both online and on-property in a short space of time, making us the trusted choice for those looking to leverage their strong brand and provide their customers with high-quality sports betting experiences.”

The Turf Club betting system is linked that used at Parx and eventually the one planned for ValleyForge Turf Club, which will launch in Pennsylvania, subject to regulatory approval.

Matthew Cullen, Parx Casino vice president of interactive gaming and sports, said: “It’s the same system, same platform. My team back at Bensalem is managing everything from a back end business perspective. We are effectively running everything from upstairs in the casino.”

Marc Oppenheimer, Marketing Officer for Greenwood Gaming, said: “We’re across the street from Citizens Bank Park. We’re no more than a couple blocks from the Linc and Wells Fargo Center. So, we’re really right here in the hub of where the sports activity in Philadelphia takes place.”

Kambi now runs four of the five sportsbooks in the state.
