US – MGM National Harbor drives Maryland to its best ever casino month

By - 9 November 2022

Maryland’s six casinos enjoyed a record-breaking month in October with revenues of $212.9m, surpassing the previous monthly record of $181.5m from July 2022 by more than 17 per cent.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission confirmed that MGM National Harbor drove the increase with its best ever revenue month of $115m with table gaming up to $73.2m from $14.5m last year. Higher footfall was driven by the relaunch of exhibitions, concerts, and events.

Ocean Downs Casino saw its revenue up five per cent to $8m with Horseshoe Casino Baltimore also up by 1.5 per cent to $17.4m. The state’s other casinos all posted declines in revenue. Second place Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland was down by 1.9 per cent year-on-year generating GGR of $59.6m. Rocky Gap Casino was down 9.5 per cent to $5.2m whilst Hollywood Casino Perryville was down 1.3 per cent to $7.5m.
