US – Michigan online and sports betting revenue down in February

Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported combined total internet gaming gross receipts and internet sports betting gross receipts of $170.83m during February. Receipts fell 8.8 per cent compared with January results of $187.33m.

Internet gaming gross receipts for February were $148.17m. Internet gaming declined 3.6 per cent compared with the Michigan record gross receipts of $153.69m reported in January.

Gross sports betting receipts were $22.66m compared with $33.64m reported in January for a 32.6 per cent decrease.

Combined total adjusted internet gaming gross receipts and adjusted internet sports betting gross receipts were $141.73m, falling 9.2 per cent from January receipts of $156.17m.

Internet gaming adjusted gross receipts were $133.28m, falling 3.7 per cent from January’s $138.32m in receipts. Monthly internet gaming adjusted gross receipts were 20.6 per cent higher than February 2022’s adjusted gross receipts of $110.56m.

Commercial and tribal operators reported a combined total of $8.45m in internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts. This was a 52.6 per cent decline from January’s total of $17.85m. Internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts increased by $12.4 million compared with the $3.95 million loss recorded in February 2022.

For the first two months of 2023, internet gaming adjusted gross receipts totaled $271.6m, and internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts were $26.3m. Michigan operators reported $219.7 m in internet gaming adjusted gross receipts and $15.2m in internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts in the first two months of 2022.

Total handle of $344.9m declined 27.5 per cent from January 2023’s total handle of $475.6m. Total handle was down 13.4 per cent from the $398.4m handle reported in February 2022.
