Nevada casinos have smashed their way to their 14th consecutive month of surpassing $1bn in gaming win, hitting $1.23bn this past April, up 8.6 per cent compared to April last year.

Casinos on the Strip, in Clark County and statewide had their highest April gaming win ever.

On the Las Vegas Strip, the win was $593.5m, up 22.8 per cent from the same month in 2021. Slot-machine win of $804.1m statewide was up 1.4 per cent whilst able-game win was up by 31.9 per cent to $324m with the amount bet up 28.5 per cent to $2.6bn.

Baccarat win of $51.8m increased 75.9 per cent and the drop of $559.2m was up 48.4 per cent over last year.

Sports books were down slightly bringing in $25.4m, marking a fall of 6.9 per cent from April 2021.

Control Board Research Analyst Michael Lawton said: “The Strip’s results benefited from strong demand for gaming activity and consumers continued to display resiliency as their behavior remained consistent across multiple customer segments.’

“In April, Harry Reid International Airport offered nonstop service from 16 different carriers to 17 international destinations, including those in Mexico, Canada, Panama, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland,” Mr. Lawton said.

“The resumption of flights represents a near total restoration of the international nonstop service Las Vegas lost in 2020,” he added. “International passenger totals in April were the highest total recorded since February 2020 and increased 29.9 percent sequentially compared to March 2021.”
