US – New York casinos will need proof of vaccination for customers to enter

By - 17 August 2021

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has confirmed a new Key to NYC vaccination mandate for indoor dining, entertainment and fitness will start on August 17.

Casinos, including Resorts World NYC and Empire City Casino, sports stadiums, movie theaters and concert halls will all require proof of vaccination via two official apps. Also, a picture of a CDC vaccination card or a hard copy will be accepted.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said: “New York City has one mission: defeat the delta variant and build a recovery for all of us. The Key to NYC sends a powerful message that vaccination will unlock our city’s potential, and we’ll stop at nothing to save lives and keep New Yorkers safe.”

Health Commissioner Dr. Dave A. Chokshi added: “The Key to NYC will unlock many of our favorite activities. Vaccination makes every activity safer and this is a common-sense precaution to keep patrons of gyms, restaurants and indoor entertainment healthy.”
