US – Ocean Resorts’ sports book to host sports betting show

By - 5 October 2018

The sports book at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will host a weekend morning live show of The Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN).

The studio will serve as the stage for the shows starting later this month as VSiN expands its footprint to a state with newly legalised sports gambling. Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi and current VSiN host Jonathan Von Tobel will anchor the programs, which will kick off VSiN’s live weekend programming.

“Our goal for the William Hill Sports Book at Ocean Resort Casino is to maintain its status as the new epicenter for sports betting on the East Coast, so to be able to enhance that reputation by partnering with broadcast pioneer VSiN and esteemed industry leaders Brent and Brian Musburger was an easy and exciting decision for us to make,” said AC Ocean Walk LLC Chairman Bruce Deifik.

“As legalisation continues to expand across the country, VSiN will be where it needs to be to cover these markets,” said VSiN CEO Brian Musburger. “Bruce Deifik’s Ocean Resort has made a significant commitment to the sports betting scene in New Jersey by opening the most impressive sports book in Atlantic City.”

An NFL front-office executive for more than 25 years, Lombardi has earned three Super Bowl rings — with San Francisco (1985) and New England (2015 and 2017). In his most recent NFL stop, he served as a special assistant to the Patriots coaching staff. “Mike is one of the smartest people I’ve worked with,” Bill Belichick wrote in the foreword of Lombardi’s new book “Gridiron Genius.”

An Ocean City, N.J., native, Lombardi also has worked in media, having served as a contributor to the NFL Network and writing for NFL.com and other publications. He has been a guest contributor to VSiN this NFL season.

“Michael impressed us immediately with his ability to relate to sports bettors with the insights they need to make informed decisions. He’ll make a great addition to a team dedicated to delivering the news and analysis needed by the growing number of Americans wagering on sports,” Musburger said.

Von Tobel, a native of Las Vegas, has been with VSiN as a producer and host since its debut in February 2017.
