US – Paragon signs extension for Westgate management

By - 22 August 2018

Paragon Gaming has had its management agreement to oversee operations at Westgate Las Vegas, formerly the Hilton Las Vegas extended.

No time frame was put on the extension with the deal described simply as ‘long-term.’

Westgate Resorts Chief Operating Officer Mark Waltrip said: “Our partnership with Paragon has been a success since the beginning. Paragon Gaming’s expertise has helped improve our team’s performance on every level. With so many changes coming to Las Vegas in the next several years, we’re grateful to be working alongside such experienced casino and resort operators. Paragon also manages Hooters Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, Hard Rock Lake Tahoe and the Parq Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada.

Since their partnership formed in 2015, Westgate Las Vegas has undergone nearly $200m in capital improvements to the resort’s convention and meeting space, hotel and suite inventory, restaurant portfolio, and the famed Westgate SuperBook, home to the world’s largest race- and sportsbook and the most recognized brand in the industry.

Additionally, Paragon Gaming’s leadership established clear and measurable goals at the outset of the partnership, empowering Westgate Las Vegas’ management team with the ability to focus its expertise on executing a culture of first-class service and guest experience. Paragon Gaming’s best practices, according to co-founder and Chairman of the Board Diana Bennett, allow management and employees the autonomy to form personal connections with customers and address issues of concern without the burden of bureaucracy.

“We have achieved our early goals through our partnership with Westgate Las Vegas,” said Bennett. “Looking forward, we aim to make Westgate a centerpiece of the thriving North Strip, while always focusing on a level of service that ensures an outstanding guest experience at every level.”

With a thriving convention and meeting space strategically located adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate Las Vegas is positioned to take advantage of its in-progress $1.4bn expansion. Additionally, the increasing popularity of sports wagering is expected to boost interest in the Westgate Superbook Race & Sports Book, further enhancing Westgate Las Vegas and its position as the affordable luxury resort destination in Las Vegas.
