US – Pennsylvania records all-time gaming revenue high

Pennsylvania’s combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming during March was the highest revenue achieved in a single month, totalling $463m.

The previous record month, November 2021, was $432m. The growth was primarily driven by all-time highs in two gaming sectors – retail table games exceeding $90m and internet casino-type gaming posting over $110m.

Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and VGTs.

March’s gross revenue from slot machines was $215m, an eight per cent increase in revenue on the preceding year. Table games revenue for was $94m (up 32 per cent) and casino games offered online generated $118m – a rise of 21 per cent.

Sports wagering handle was $715m (28 per cent higher than March 2021), video gaming terminals was up five per cent to $3.9m, whilst fantasy contests revenue fell by 23 per cent to $1.4m.
