US – Planet Hollywood follows trend of closing poker room

Caesars Entertainment has confirmed that the Planet Hollywood Resort poker room closed permanently on July 11.
The 10-table Planet Hollywood poker area was located in the middle of the casino floor next to the Pleasure Pit. Planet Hollywood follows Binion’s, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, and Mirage on the growing list of closed poker rooms in Las Vegas. Casinos in Las Vegas operated more than 1,000 poker tables in 2010 but that number has fallen to less than 300.
