US – Thunder Valley confirms expansion plans

By - 24 February 2016

Thunder Valley Casino Resort has announced plans to add 111 luxury rooms and suites to its hotel this year.

The project will include a complete renovation of its existing 297 rooms within the seventeen story tower.

“We are excited about the design improvements and new innovations that will serve to enhance the experience at our AAA 4-Diamond destination resort,” said Dawn Clayton, General Manager. “Some of the best design and construction companies in the business have been selected to make it happen, and we can’t wait for the day when our guests see the remarkable design features in store for them.”

Clayton said the interior project will take about 18 months to complete, while creating more than a hundred construction jobs in the area. “We’re pleased to play a prominent role in the regional economy by creating good-paying jobs,” said Clayton.

After a highly competitive RFP process, Thunder Valley selected two companies with strong reputations in the hospitality industry to oversee the project. Architectural and interior design services were developed by the globally respected firm YWS, which has designed “inspired leisure” destination projects from Las Vegas to New Zealand, including Hakkasan at MGM Grand, the Crown Sri Lanka resort and SkyCity Auckland. Roseville-based Flint Builders will oversee the build-out process. Flint received the Design-Build Institute of America “Project of the Year” award three times in the last five years. They have previously performed work for Thunder Valley, including the recent High Steaks Steakhouse outside entry.
The luxury room and suite expansion plus renovation of existing rooms are scheduled to take place during non-peak periods with minimal guest interruption.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort is owned and operated by the United Auburn Indian Community, opening in June 2003. Located 30 miles east of Sacramento, Thunder Valley offers 250,000 square feet of gaming space – including over 2,700 slot and video machines, 103 table games and a live poker room with space for 240 players.

The resort features 14 restaurants and bars and is home to a luxury, 17-story hotel with a large banquet and entertainment hall capable of hosting events for up to 850 guests.
