US – Treasure Island in Las Vegas says it will reopen May 15

Treasure Island, a major Las Vegas Strip casino resort, announced on its website that it is “currently accepting reservations for arrivals beginning May 15, 2020 (subject to change).”
“Treasure Island – TI Hotel and Casino is dedicated first and foremost to the health and safety of our guest and employees.
By order of the Nevada Governor’s office, Treasure Island has temporarily ceased all gaming and hotel operations. The closure is currently scheduled thru May 14, 2020, subject to change.
We will be monitoring the ongoing situation and follow the advice of federal, state and local government and health agencies,” the message reads.
“As of right now, that is the plan,” Treasure Island spokeswoman Jennifer Renzelman told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “No matter what, we are adhering to the governor’s official recommendations. We are working with vendors to procure appropriate safety and sanitation measures, which is why we moved our tentative date last week from May 1 to May 15.”
TI, which closed on 19 March as a precaution to the COVID-19 outbreak along with other Nevada casinos, is privately owned by Las Vegas-based casino mogul and businessman Phil Ruffin, who purchased Circus Circus Hotel Casino – Las Vegas for $825 million in October 2019.
The Circus Circus website also says its “closure is planned until May 15, 2020 (subject to change).”
