US – Veevaert joins IGT as VP of Games for DoubleDown

IGT has appointed Jim Veevaert as its new Vice President of Games for DoubleDown Casino.

A 20-year industry veteran, Mr. Veevaert has a remarkable game development background and successful track record of bringing world-renowned hits to life. From console to social gaming, Veevaert has held executive positions at Zynga, Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Microsoft and Vivendi/Sierra Entertainment. He served as Vice President over the Half-Life and Counter-Strike franchises, as well as Executive Producer of the video game sensation Halo 3. Additionally, he brought the mega-successful Gears of War franchise to Xbox. Prior to joining IGT, Mr. Veevaert served as General Manager of Zynga’s Game Studio in Seattle, Washington.

In his new role, Mr. Veevaert will oversee the long-term game strategy for the popular DoubleDown Casino on Facebook and mobile devices. He will also champion product initiatives through the entire life cycle from ideation, to development, launch, and ongoing enhancement.
