US – WMS honoured for Supply Chain Leadership

By - 3 April 2014

WMS Gaming, a Scientific Games company, has been honoured with a 2014 Manufacturing Leadership (ML) Award in Supply Chain Leadership for its achievements in developing a world-class governance and material sourcing strategy.

Now in its tenth year, the ML Awards recognise companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing.

Through partnerships with its worldwide network of suppliers, WMS optimized its end-to-end supply chain, leading to increased efficiency, reduced lead times and improved product quality. The capabilities developed from this effort enable WMS to maximise the total value of its supply and manufacturing network across commodities, disciplines and geographies. The process and strategies developed by WMS enable sustainable, best-in-class supply chain performance that allow us to continue to meet the needs of the gaming industry, while directly advancing the integration objectives of the Scientific Games merger.

“We are honoured to be recognized by the Manufacturing Leadership Council in the Supply Chain Leadership category. This achievement represents truly collaborative innovation across WMS’ entire end-to-end supply chain,” said Chris Hillman, Vice President of Global Supply Chain. “This is a testament to WMS’ leadership and commitment to optimizing our performance for our customers.”

Heather Holst-Knudsen, President of the Manufacturing Leadership Council, said: “In a world of intensifying global competition and accelerating change, recipients of the ML Awards have distinguished themselves by embracing breakthrough innovation and enabling their companies to anticipate and respond to customers with unmatched agility. This procurement transformation initiative makes WMS the worthy recipient of the 2014 ML Award for this recognition in Supply Chain Leadership.”

WMS will be celebrated alongside other award recipients and manufacturing leaders from around the world at the ML Summit in June.
