By - 23 May 2018

Vietnam’s Hoi An South Development has announced the appointment of former Okada Manila President and Managing Director Steve Wolstenholme as Group Chief Operating Officer.

The US$4bn Hoiana integrated resort – a joint venture between Suncity Group, VinaCapital and VMS Investment Group – is located 30 kilometers south of Da Nang in central Vietnam.

Mr. Wolstenholme brings a wealth of international experience in Asia and North America to Hoiana, including senior roles as President and Chief Operating Officer for the 2,000 room Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, and Chief Operating Officer for Galaxy Macau.

“We are delighted to welcome such an experienced executive to our team and with his strong background in pre-opening large scale projects, Steve will play a critical role in our success” said Richard Lam, CEO of Hoi An South Development.

“Steve is a proven leader with an extensive knowledge of gaming and hospitality across many markets. His commitment to not only building the business, but also his background in contributing to the local community through leading CSR initiatives, is an important factor in his appointment. We are very confident that with Steve’s leadership, Hoiana will establish itself as one of the region’s most successful integrated resort developments.”

The first stage of the development comprising three luxury internationally acclaimed hotels, a casino, multiple dining options and a world class golf course is due to open in 2019.

Mr. Wolstenholme, who joined Okada Manila in September 2015, holds an Executive MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and has served on numerous community and business boards and foundations around the world.
