Vietnam – Sun City completes purchase of Hoiana shares

Macau junket operator Suncity Group has completed its purchase of just over a third of a share in Hoiana, the integrated resort project to open in Hoi An South in Vietnam next year.
Suncity subsidiary Goal Summit now owns the entire equity 34 per cent interest previously owned by Star Admiral. It joins the project’s other partners, VinaCapital Group and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises.
The first phase will open with 140 gaming tables and 1,000 slot machines as well as a hotel, condos and a golf course.
Sun City said: “The group is confident in the outlook for the tourism sector in Vietnam and believes there will be an increasing demand for resort facilities in popular tourist destinations in the country, including Quang Nam province, which has received almost a quarter of the country’s total number of foreign visitors in 2016.”
