Ellis Island hotel-casino to replace brewery with larger gaming floor and sportsbook

By - 10 April 2024

The family-owned Ellis Island hotel-casino, which has operated just off the Strip by the Flamingo for 55 years, is embarking on an expansion that will bring 6,415 square feet to the property.

The 24 hour casino, that is famed for its steak special, nightly karaoke and Front Yard beer garden wants to develop a much larger gaming floor, an audio/visual equipment area, a sportsbook back-of-house area and a south service entrance vestibule to the property. It will bring the curtain down on its 2,800-square-foot microbrewery to allow space for the rennovation. Documents filed with Clark County show that the remodelled venue will be much closer to the pavement and will offer rooftop access.

Christina Ellis, vice president of development, said: “This renovation gives us the opportunity to create an elevated gaming and entertainment experience while honoring our history and legacy.”

Anamarie Ellis, Vice President of operations, said: “With Ellis Island’s 56th anniversary on the horizon, we are proud to be entering into a new era. This project has been in the works for several years and we are excited to introduce a renewed aesthetic and offering.”
