Estonia – Olympic enters Estonian and Latvian sports betting
Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) has expanded its online business into the regulated Estonian and Latvian sports betting market from August 1 2013.
The launch of sports betting coincides with the rebrand of Olympic-Online to OlyBet. Furthermore, Olybet’s new sports betting service is available in a newly created network of sports bars as well as online.
OEG CEO Madis Jääger commented: “With the launch of Olybet, OEG have entered the sports betting market in Estonia and expanded our online business into Latvia. This is the first foreign market for OEG’s online services and positions Olybet as one of the first online licenced operators in Latvia. Based on our Estonian and Latvian operations we have launched a competitive and compelling service for our customers which we intend to develop and replicate into other markets in the future.”
OlyBet’s General Manager Kaido Ulejev commented: “OlyBet delivers a pre-match and live in-play sports betting offering which will also see the launch of our new sports bar network. OlyBet’s new gaming environment is an open platform created and delivered in partnership with the eGaming software developer Iforium. In addition, OlyBet is launched in cooperation with premium gaming partners including Casino games under the Casino Tab delivered exclusively by Playtech, further games via Microgaming Quickfire with NetEntertainment to follow. Olybet’s Poker provider is Microgaming via the MPN and the new service sports betting managed by Betconstruct.
