Greece – Loutraki granted €40m tax refund from government
By Phil - 24 January 2018
Club Hotel Loutraki, once Europe’s top earning casino, is set for a refund of €40m from the government following a ruling from the Tripoli Administrative Court of Appeal.
The court ruled against the Greek government claiming it was not justified in increasing Loutraki’s tax rate from 20 per cent to 33 per cent from 2008 to 2011. The casino could also now file a supplementary application with the court covering the years 2015 to 2017 with interest on monies owed taking that potential total to €18m.
