ICE- SCR banknote recycler heads up MEI’s ICE offering

By - 21 January 2014

MEI will be displaying payment solutions that have raised expectations for performance and, as a result, operator profitability. In addition to its SC Advance portfolio, including EasiTrax Soft Count, visitors to Booth N7-122 will also have the opportunity to preview the new SCR banknote recycler.

The SCR is a two-denomination note recycler based upon MEI’s SC platform that has a field installed base of 1.5 million units. It combines the performance and reliability of SC Advance technology with the benefits of note recycling as part of a total cash management solution.  And, because the development is designed for the challenging German Gaming market, the architecture features an anti-stringing module as part of a feature set that will set the standard for security in note recycling.

The SCR performs all the functions of a traditional accept/dispense unit from a single closed-loop system that accepts, accounts for and stores cash from one player to give as change to the next.  This eliminates hopper starvation in AWP applications and, as a result, machines can run for longer periods of time without requiring maintenance.
The SCR features the same acceptor head as the SC Advance note acceptor. SC Advance evolved from MEI’s winning CashFlow SC note acceptor, improving the key performance features responsible for operator profitability and customer satisfaction – acceptance, jam rate, security and cost of operation.  It features an enhanced recognition system, faster note-to-note speed, improved barcode recognition and an increased capacity to accept up to 100 different currencies and denominations, providing an ideal solution for areas that depend on tourism.  And players can always use the cash they have on hand because SC Advance also features the industry’s best first-time acceptance rate for valid street-grade notes, including those that are damp, crinkled or torn.
MEI will also be exhibiting EasiTrax Web – a value-added feature to the cash management program that is now installed in more than 100,000 games worldwide.  EasiTrax Web makes it possible to create customized reports and access that data anywhere in the world. “Now, operators can further strengthen the link between the slot floor and back room. The efficiencies that have routinely led to a payback in less than one year are stronger than ever. The intuitive, non-cloud-based portal is also configurable to individual needs,” sources of the firm said.
The PPM Advance, a next generation support tool, helps operators gain even more control over their games by generating newfound operational efficiencies and lowering maintenance costs.  It allows technicians to perform quick and easy in-field updates for currency data, configuration data and software; performance diagnostics; and audit data reporting. PPM Advance features a display screen, enhanced memory and a Bluetooth functionality option to further simplify software management and performance monitoring. The Bluetooth functionality upgrade delivers enhanced communications features to the user through an Android phone and tablet app, enabling operators to download software remotely, as well as add EasiTrax Soft Count asset numbers.
