Spain – Codere launches Aerofootball with Real Madrid

Codere, Real Madrid’s Official Sports Bookmaker sponsor has announced the launch of a new type of sports betting product called Aerofootball Codere in Spain, Mexico and Colombia. The sport is played by members of Real Madrid’s first squad.

Ángel Fernández, director of Global Brand of Codere, explains: “Given the advertising saturation in football matches, we have no other alternative for differentiation than resorting to creativity. With our own sport, our particular competition, everything is easier. If we also do it with Real Madrid, then even better. This is how Aerofootball Codere was born, a different way to achieve our goals through a commitment to creating unique content.”

Codere’s new sport is a mix between air hockey and football. It is played with the feet but instead of a ball Real Madrid players play with a huge disc, designed and created especially for Aerofootball Codere.

The pitch is engineered in such a way that compressed air comes out from the ground so that the disc levitates slightly. In addition the pitch has six goals, three on each side.

The original campaign was devised by the creative agency El Ruso de Rocky, which helped to conceive the new sport and is working in collaboration with MediaMonks in the production of a campaign that will be present on television and on digital media.
