Spain – Two companies looking to develop Malaga’s third licence

By - 6 May 2016

Two companies are looking to enter the casino market in the Andalusion city of Malaga.

Current legislation allows for three casinos although only two; Casino Torrequebrada in Benalmadena and Casino Marbella in Nueva Andalucía are in operation.

Andalusion Hospitality wants to build to build a luxury hotel tower with a modern casino in Dique de Levante and is currently in talks with Casino Torrequebrada about the potential of buying and then transferring the licence. If these talks fail it will then bid for the third new licence.

It will face competition from a company called ARC Resorts, a Singapore-based company who wants to build a large hotel with a casino close to the dock of San Andrés. ARC had previously looked at building a casino at Marina Real in Valencia but has withdrawn its interest due to regulatory restrictions.
