UK – Betfred renews Inspired contract

By - 17 June 2013

Inspired Gaming Group, the British-born supplier of SBG gaming machines and virtual sports, has renewed its exclusive contract with Betfred for the supply of Category B2/B3 gaming machines.

Under the five-year contract, Inspired will also supply gaming machines to an additional 500 Betfred shops that were previously Tote betting shops. The UK Government sold Tote to Betfred in July 2011. The Betfred estate now totals over 5,100 machines and is one of the largest bookmakers in the UK. Inspired will install the additional 1,700 gaming machines in January 2014.

Lee Gregory, Managing Director for the UK at Inspired Gaming Group, commented: “Betfred is well known for its successful machines business and award-winning retail marketing campaigns for new game launches. We’ve worked together to accomplish many successes over the past 15 years, from when AWPs were first allowed in bookmakers, and look forward to many more milestones – including a new hardware launch in Autumn 2013. Inspired’s UK business as a whole is going from strength to strength and we anticipate a positive year ahead with the recent launch of Fortune Spins, a new game feature, and the upcoming launch of the next phase of our technology roadmap.”

Inspired is a leading supplier of SBG gaming machines to some of the largest UK bookmakers including Betfred, William Hill, Paddy Power, and over 20 independents including Dave Pluck and Stan James. The past two years have seen Inspired win competitive tenders, following head-to-head trials, including 100 per cent of the William Hill estate and now Betfred’s additional machines business.
