UK operator Aspers reportedly in administration with reports of casinos closing

Media sources in the UK are reporting that Aspers UK Holdings Limited, Aspers Group Limited, Aspers Finance Limited and Aspers Milton Keynes Limited have all been placed into administration with staff at FTI Consulting appointed as joint administrators.

Administrators were appointed on April 8 and are now pursuing a potential transaction.

The move has led to the closure of Casino MK, located at Xscape in Central Milton Keynes. Aspers also operates what is often described as the UK’s biggest casino in Stratford. It recently sold its site in Newcastle to US operator Bally’s and closed its casino in Northampton last year on October 31. in January it sold its Aspinall’s casino in London’s Mayfair to Wynn Resorts for an undisclosed fee.

The company is owned by Australian casino group Crown Resorts, who in turn is now owned by Blackstone.
