UK – Playtech BGT Sports to unveil SSBT service for new football season

By - 25 July 2017

Playtech BGT Sports (PBS0 has ramped up its Self-Service Betting Terminal (SSBT) offering just days before the new football season kicks off.

PBS has delivered significant growth for customers via its terminals in the last 12 months, and the new campaign will witness the launch of a new goalscorer coupon, as well as Asian handicap betting for the first time, with both products set to greatly improve coupon building for customers.

The goalscorer coupon will highlight a list of likely scorers across multiple popular matches, following recent statistics suggesting anytime scorer betting is now outstripping first scorer bets by almost three to one.

Its Asian handicap offering will let customers take advantage of more flexible and competitive two-way total goal and handicap lines across major football leagues. These will be maximised on the terminal’s immersive 22” screens.

John Pettit, Playtech BGT Sport’s UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia Managing Director, said: “High street bookies are facing their fair share of challenges, but the progress and increased profitability of SSBTs has been very positive, as they are successfully providing the choice and ease-of-use that today’s customers demand.

“Our SSBTs help our operator partners drive incremental revenues and we’re confident that our enhanced product range, new coupons, and greater functionality will help that further.”

PBS will present an even more diverse football offering this season, with pre-match and in-play betting available across close to 1,000 competitions in more than 120 countries available on its SSBTs, with the majority of these markets unique to terminals within the retail space.

This will enable operators to drive greater incremental revenue this season, with little cannibalisation of their over-the-counter offering.

In-play customers will also see an improved service, with a greater range of matches present across hundreds of recently-installed terminals in prime position for TV coverage.
