US – Aristocrat makes biggest slot gains in North America

By - 24 April 2014

Australian slot manufacturer Aristocrat has made the biggest ship share gains in North America in the past quarter, according to the Eilers-Fantini Quarterly Slot Survey.

Fantini Research has teamed up with Todd Eilers to create an industry-wide survey on slot machine and technology purchasing trends, creating a valuable tool for casino operators, gaming equipment suppliers, and investors.

The survey showed that Aristocrat enjoyed 17 per cent ship share among the 256 participating properties that represent 32.5 per cent of the North American slot machine base. That is a gain of eight points for Aristocrat’s trailing 12-month average.

The industry’s largest survey of gaming equipment trends also includes a number of international casino operators.

Other highlights from the 38-page report include the continued rise of smaller manufacturers who captured 14 per cent of sales compared to nine per cent last year. Slowing of North American replacement cycle, estimated 15,200 units sold in the quarter. IGT continues to lead in almost all categories, but ship share declined. The best performing premium lease game continues to be IGT’s Wheel of Fortune. Aristocrat’s Buffalo Stampede has risen to second at seven per cent. The most anticipated new game is GTech’s Sphinx 3D, cited by 42 per cent of respondents, followed by IGT’s Avatar at 11 per cent.
