US – Hialeah Park opens with 882 slots

By - 15 August 2013

Hialeah Park, known in some quarters as ‘the world’s most beautiful race course,’ has now opened its highly anticipated Hialeah Park Casino.

The storied race track has undergone massive renovations to bring to the South Florida public a beautiful new casino which mirrors the old world elegance that made Hialeah Park a legend the world over.

It boasts 882 slots, electronic blackjack and electronic roulette. The beautiful venue gives off an elegant and warm feeling with its dark wood accents throughout.   It also features a dedicated room on the second floor of the structure with 23 poker tables.

Owner John Brunetti’s dream of making Hialeah Park an entertainment destination for South Florida has finally come to fruition. “Hialeah Park has served South Florida for over 80 years and with the addition of this beautiful casino we envision that the ‘Grand Dame’ will serve the community for another 80.  The Brunetti family is thankful to all supporters and look forward to Hialeah Park Race Track and Casino to once again become the go-to destination in South Florida.”

The construction of Hialeah Park Casino, which is just Phase 1 of a bolder future plan, also claims to be the first casino in the world to install the latest in the line of Shuffle Master Electronic Blackjack Machines.

The announcement of the installation of the most up-to-date Electronic Blackjack machines is a clear message to the public that Hialeah Park Casino will always strive to provide its customers with the most current technology that the industry has to offer.

General Manager of Casino Operations at Hialeah Park Casino, Steve Calabro, was one of the first team members brought on board by Brunetti to bring the casino to fruition. Mr Calabro has 32 years of experience in the casino industry, got his start in Atlantic City, and later oversaw operations at Gulfstream Racing & Casino before his current role at Hialeah. When hired, he rapidly applied his wealth of experience to the project. As soon as construction began on the casino, he “put his feelers out” and listened carefully to his customer base. From specific  slot machines being chosen, to the entrance to the casino layout, many of the venue’s elements carry Mr. Calabro’s fingerprints.

He said: I was honoured to be brought on to this project, as Hialeah Park represents almost a century of time-honoured history to South Florida. Knowing this, I wanted to make this casino the crown jewel of my career in South Florida. I am proud to boast that our team has done extensive market research to provide the latest and greatest in gaming to our customer base. The installation of these Electronic Blackjack machines is just the tip of the iceberg as we unveil the casino this summer. Furthermore, as the general manager of casino operations, I guarantee that Hialeah Park Casino will offer the biggest payouts in Florida.”
