US – IGT secures patent to transfer cryptocurrencies to slots

International Game Technology (IGT) has received a patent for a system that would allow players to transfer cryptocurrencies from their accounts to a ‘gaming establishment account.’
The patent application shows payments in Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Ether (ETH), as examples for users transferring crypto from their private wallets to wallets connected to casino accounts.
“IGT obtained this patent to bolster its industry-leading patent portfolio in anticipation of any possible future directions in regulated games involving cryptocurrencies,” said its spokesperson, Phil O’Shaughnessy.
