US – Miccosukee Tribe to open 150 slot service station casino
By Phil - 17 August 2023The Miccosukee Tribe is bringing a new casino, the Miccosukee Service Plaza, to part of the Interstate 75 that links the southeast and southwest coasts in the Florida Everglades, Miami, in November this year.
The new casino destination will house 150 slot machines in an 8,500-square-foot space, along with the service station’s Glades Cafe and Dunkin’ Donuts.
The tribe stated: “Modesty meets modernization at a sleek yet sophisticated new attraction coming this fall. Step off of the highway and into 8,500 square feet of entertainment. From weary travelers to gaming enthusiasts, the ambiance at Miccosukee Service Plaza Casino will be the best break you can take. Complementing the completely renovated service plaza, this brand-new, state-of-the-art, non-smoking casino facility will feature 150 of the hottest games in the industry today. Top it off by becoming an M Sphere Rewards member with points, benefits, and offers redeemable at all Miccosukee casino properties.”
The Miccosukee Tribe is partnering with national architecture and engineering design firm CPH and Florida-based construction company 2 Brothers Contracting LLC on this monumental phase in Tribal history.
William Osceola, the Miccosukee Tribe’s secretary business council, said: “We haven’t had an expansion in about two decades since the resort. It’s important because we need room to grow as a community — we have community members living here but if we can show that this facility is working, then more people may come here. We don’t have a lot of room where we’re at and we’d like to grow. A tree doesn’t get bigger if you contain its roots.”
