By - 9 May 2016

The Commissioners of the National Indian Gaming Commission have selected Associate Commissioner Kathryn Isom-Clause (Taos Pueblo) to Vice Chair of the Commission.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to take on the additional responsibilities as Vice Chair of the National Indian Gaming Commission,” she said.

Vice Chair Isom-Clause was appointed to the Commission by US Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell.

“As the Commission moves forward as a collaborative team, I am conscious of the significant and vital work that must be accomplished. I will continue to ensure that the Commission remains adherent not only to the sound implementation of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, but I also commit to maintaining and building strong relationships with tribes and tribal regulators,” Clause remarked.

In accordance with the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the Commission selects a Vice Chair by majority vote. The Vice Chair serves as Chair during meetings of the Commission in the absence of the Chair.
