US – Vantiv and Worldpay combination promises to transform payment industry

Vantiv, a payment processing services and technology solutions provider, has finalised its takeover of Worldpay Group, a technological payment-solutions company.

The combined company, named Worldpay, creates a leading payments provider uniquely equipped to power global integrated omni-commerce, processing more than 40 billion transactions annually through more than 300 payment types across 146 countries and 126 currencies. The proposed combination of the two companies was announced on August 9, 2017.

Executives of the new Worldpay – which has becomes the #1 Global Merchant Acquirer able to accept payments from geographies covering 99 per cent of global GDP – rang the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the first day of trading as the newly combined company.

This new global payments leader will have a pro forma enterprise value of $31bn, processing over US$1.5tn in payment volume.
