Spain – Online gaming on the rise in Spain

Online gaming is gaining in popularity in Spain with online revenues for the three months ending June 30 coming in at €121.3m, representing a 22.6 jump on the quarter last year.

Spain’s gaming regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) published the results that showed sports betting revenue was up 12.3 per cent year-on-year to €60.1m and casino revenue of €42.9m, up 52.5 per cent from last year. Slots revenue increased by 84 per cent to €21.5m whilst live dealer increased by 65 per cent to €9.5m

Online poker increased by five per cent from 2016’s Q2 figures.

The number of active online gambling users in the second quarter of 2017 went passed was over 646,000, marking an increase of seven per cent.
