US – GLI issues White Paper on Fantasy Sports and website testing

According to statistics available through the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) website, the estimated number of fantasy sports players has grown from 12.6m to 56.8m in the last 10 years.
Because of the growing popularity of fantasy sports and increasing consumer demand for greater transparency in how the games operate, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has issued a White Paper on Fantasy Sports, highlighting the benefits of having fantasy sports sites properly tested and certified by GLI. Independent testing of fantasy sports sites provides consumers with greater confidence in the service and allows operators to establish credibility and maintain player loyalty.
FSTA research also states that 48 per cent of players (the highest response of eight categories), chose the website to play because they trusted the site.
“The exponential growth in fantasy sports players, combined with the fact that players choose their sites to play primarily because they trust the site, clearly speaks to the need for these sites to be properly tested,” said GLI President/CEO James Maida.
