US – GLI signs Colorado testing contract

By - 27 June 2013

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has received a new contract from the Colorado Division of Gaming to serve as a certified testing laboratory for the State of Colorado. This new agreement extends and builds on a venerable working relationship between GLI and the Division.

The contract is the culmination of an extensive Request for Information (RFI) process conducted by the Division. The RFI included strict performance and Colorado-based facility requirements that must be adhered to in order to achieve “Certified Vendor” status. GLI is already in conformance with these high standards and will be able to continue its uninterrupted level of service to the Division and to the gaming public, which dates back to the start of gaming in Colorado.

Only test labs designated as “Certified Vendor” can perform testing for the Division, and GLI is the only test lab to have achieved this status.

GLI President James Maida said: “We are honored with the incredible trust the Colorado Division of Gaming has placed in GLI. Since 1991, we have worked closely with the Division to ensure the State remains on the cutting edge of gaming technology, benefitting the state and its gaming facilities, while at the same time protecting the public interest. We are thrilled to extend our relationship with the Division, and we look forward to many more productive years working together.”

GLI’s Colorado lab has been adding staff consistently for more than a year to keep pace with ever-increasing demand for GLI’s services, and now the lab is home to more than 100 employees. The increase in staff necessitated GLI Colorado’s recent expansion of its facility in Golden, Colorado.

GLI’s staff increase in Colorado mirrors a worldwide hiring trend at the company, which has added more than 150 employees globally over the past year. Today, GLI employs more than 800 staff members in its 21 locations. With more than 800 employees, GLI has more capacity than any other lab.
