US – Zynga taking World Poker Tour to world’s largest free-to-play poker game

By - 11 September 2018

Social gamer Zynga will be taking its multi-year partnership deal with renowned poker tournament series, the World Poker Tour, into the digital realm of Zynga Poker, the world’s largest free-to-play poker game.

Players will be able to experience the authentic tournament style play that the World Poker Tour is known for in the competitive virtual world of Zynga Poker, marking the game’s largest ever in-game partnership with additional competitive modes in future quarters.

“We are incredibly thrilled to see the next step in the transformational multi-year partnership between the World Poker Tour and Zynga Poker come to life with the launch of WPT®-themed tournaments on the world’s largest free-to-play poker platform”

“Our Zynga Poker players are an extremely passionate group who aspire to feel like true poker champions,” said Bernard Kim, President of Publishing. “Our World Poker Tour-themed tournaments enhance our free-to-play Zynga Poker social casino experience and bring the most premier name in the sport of poker directly into the player’s hands. We are thrilled to invite the World Poker Tour into our virtual world to create an even more authentic and immersive experience that players will love.”

Features include the Authentic World Poker Tour Experience which allows users to play like a pro in the new World Poker Tour Tournament mode in Zynga Poker. There will be higher stakes, bigger payouts and a wider range of stakes which means players can win even more virtual chips for every tournament they play.

They will be able to compete at the traditional nine-person table or the new 5-person table for faster play
To celebrate this moment, the World Poker Tour will join Zynga Poker to co-sponsor aspiring NASCAR champion Matt DiBenedetto as he competes in the South Point 400 in Las Vegas this weekend.

“We are incredibly thrilled to see the next step in the transformational multi-year partnership between the World Poker Tour and Zynga Poker come to life with the launch of WPT-themed tournaments on the world’s largest free-to-play poker platform,” said Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour. “Featuring state-of-the art integrations and enhanced gameplay, millions of Zynga Poker players around the world can now experience the true feeling of competing on the global World Poker Tour stage.”
