Armenia – Casino group wins customs exemption
By Lewis - 22 July 2014The Senator Group in Armenia, which operates casinos in the country’s capital Yerevan and employs around 102 people, has been recognised by the government as positively contributing to the state’s growth. Rewarding its efforts, the government has granted Senator Group a three year customs tax exemption on gaming equipment imports. The Armenian government states that Senator is a ‘pioneer in Armenia’s gaming sector and a major employer.’ Senator has responded by saying that the decision will mean that it is able to employ an additional 32 staff and further expand its business. In 2013, Senator imported 40+ slot machines and under the exemption will pay no import duty.
