Australia – Lightning Box experiences 57 per cent annual growth following acquisition by Light & Wonder

Light & Wonder has revealed that slots supplier Lightning Box has enjoyed a major surge in global growth.

Since the acquisition in August 2021, the studio has experienced year-on-year growth of 57 per cent with August 2022 marking Lightning Box’s biggest ever month in terms of revenues.

Peter Causley, CEO and co-founder of Lightning Box, commented on the results: “We knew that by joining Light & Wonder we would be able to drive forward with our ambitious plans, but even given the huge global power of the company, the speed at which we have flourished has taken us aback.

“Our games continue to hit new heights of popularity around the world and we can’t wait to release new hits to penetrate U.S., Canadian and European markets even further.”

The Sydney-based supplier’s slot Lightning Shenlong is currently in the top 10 games across the OpenGaming entertainment platform, while Lightning Gorilla – soon to be launched in Pennsylvania – has proven to be particularly popular in the U.S., sitting inside the top 20.

Lightning Box is currently live with more than 50 of the leading U.S. and European operators, including BetMGM, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock Casino, FanDuel, Resorts Casino, BCLC, Loto-Québec, OLG, Sky Bet, LeoVegas, William Hill, and Betsson, releasing up to 12 new titles every year through OpenGaming.
