By Phil - 26 February 2020
The Belgian Center for Integrity (CINT) is investigating allegations against employees of the Belgian Gambling Commission (BGC), including Director Peter Naessens, who have been accused of accepting gifts from gaming operators.
CINT has highlighted five serious violations, including misappropriation of government funds, abuse of power, and accepting gifts from operators of gambling establishments with computers being seized and surveys carried out.
Mr. Naessens’ lawyer Anne Marie De Clerck said: “My client has an honest reputation and will defend himself against the allegations.”
Federal Justice Minister Koen Geens added: “I am studying the report, and I will take the appropriate measures.”
