Bragg Gaming supercharges Italian growth with Sisal online slots content deal

By - 7 May 2024

Bragg Gaming Group has announced its in-house developed proprietary slots content certified for the Italian market will launch with leading Italian online casino, sports betting and lottery operator Sisal.

The agreement covers high-performing slots titles from Bragg’s studios Atomic Slot Lab and Indigo Magic, including titles such as Egyptian Magic, Fairy Dust and Cai Fu Emperor Ways from Atomic Slot Lab and Sevens & Suns, Alpha Gold and Phoenix Fury from Indigo Magic.

Uniquely inspired by best in class features, themes and mechanics from some of North America’s best-loved land-based casino slots, Bragg’s Atomic Slot Lab studio focuses on using these insights to develop a brand-new generation of online content for players.

Indigo Magic works to develop and deliver titles which use only the most up to date best practices in ideation and game creation globally, but with a localized data-driven approach which accounts for local
trends, tastes and preferences to release next-generation content.

Content delivered by Bragg is accessible through Bragg’s Remote Gaming Server (RGS), a delivery system which is licensed, certified and approved to supply casino games in 25+ regulated markets globally. All
content deployed by Sisal in Italy will be under Bragg’s existing content distribution agreement with Microgame, first signed in March 2022.

Since launching in the Italian market in 2023, Bragg has localized and certified more than 45 online casino games in the territory, including titles from Bragg’s two in-house proprietary content studios and its Powered By Bragg partners.

Karl Grech, Head of Business Development at Bragg, commented: “We’re committed to launching proprietary and exclusive online casino content with leading operators in the largest regulated markets in
the world, and our agreement with Sisal concerning Italy underlines the success we are having in pursuing
this approach.

According to latest data from H2 Gambling Capital, Italy’s total online gambling market gross gambling revenue (GGR) is expected to grow by more than 16 per cent year-on-year in 2024 to $3.4bn, with casino gaming GGR estimated to rise by 18 per cent to $3.1bn over the same period, with Italy now the second largest European regulated iGaming market behind the UK.

Italy is currently in the midst of overhauling its regulatory regime for online gambling under the Italian government’s ‘Reorganization of Gambling’ decree, with licenses fees to operate online gambling in Italy increasing to €7m for a nine-year license, increasing from the previous price of €200,000, in force since
2018.

In addition, new technical requirements are set to be imposed on licensees, with platforms required to have player-imposed limits on gameplay, with licensees required to send warning messaging when limits are set to be breached. Italy’s regulator, the ADM is also to be given new powers to combat unlicensed online gambling.
