By - 31 August 2022

iGaming Ontario has released its first public report of market performance since the market launched on April 4, covering the first full quarter of market operations.

The numbers in the report, unaudited and subject to adjustment, show that total cash wagers totalled $4,076m, not including promotional wagers, and gaming revenue was $162m including rake fees, tournament fees and other fees, across all live operators.

There were 18 live operators and 31 igaming websites are as of June 30. Active player accounts numbered 492,000 – not representing unique players as individuals may have accounts with multiple operators – and the average monthly spend was $113 per active player account.

“Our aim is to be the best gaming jurisdiction in the world and these positive results are an early sign that we’re on our way,” commented Dave Forestell, iGO’s Board Chair.

“With a competitive revenue share rate and low barriers to entry, Ontario is an attractive igaming market with a strong player base.”
