The Casino Enjoy Antofagasta, located in northern Chile, announced that it would reopen as of December 20 after the SJC confirmed in mid-November, that its license had been renewed for a further fifteen years.
On November 13, (via Exempt Resolution No. 1078) the SJC announced that its Resolution Council had granted the casino operation permit to the company Dalmacia Gamming S.A., a subsidiary of Enjoy, for the commune and region of Antofagasta.
In a statement, the company said it had implemented improvements in the casino facilities to provide a renovated space for its customers. Along with the reopening, Dalmatia confirmed significant investments to ensure that the visitor experience is of better quality, by implementing improvements to the casino facilities, which will provide customers with a renewed and a modern atmosphere. The company said also that the gaming side of the business would ensure 350 direct jobs while a further 300 jobs would be kept on the gastronomy and hotel side of its operations.
“The opening meant that the Municipality of Antofagasta and the Regional Government received approximately CLP 250m per month in gambling tax each. Added to this is the collection from the recent economic offer of CLP 400m, per month for the Municipality of Antofagasta and another CLP 200m to the General Treasury of the Republic in VAT,” the company said in a statement.
According to local press in the last 12 months alone the company has renewed four of its licenses for 15 more years (located in Los Angeles, Rinconada, San Antonio and Antofagasta), combined these represent a third of the company’s total revenue.
