Evolution Gaming makes move into land-based with bid for Galaxy Gaming
By Phil - 13 November 2024
Evolution Gaming has made a move into land-based gaming technology with an undisclosed bid to buy Galaxy Gaming, the world’s largest independent developer and distributor of omnichannel casino table progressives and technology.
Galaxy Gaming specialises in omnichannel table games delivery with progressive side bets aiming to improve profitability, productivity, and security for its clients while providing players with popular and cutting-edge gaming entertainment. Galaxy Gaming stockholders voted to approve the company’s acquisition by Evolution Malta Holding Limited, Evolution’s wholly-owned subsidiary.
Galaxy Gaming will file a Form 8-K with the US Securities and Exchange Commission reporting the final voting results of the Special Meeting. The transaction is expected to close mid-2025 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of regulatory approvals. Upon completion of the transaction, Galaxy Gaming will become a privately held company and shares of Galaxy Gaming common stock will no longer be listed on any public market.
With an extensive portfolio of proprietary casino table games, Galaxy Gaming has established a formidable presence across North America, the Caribbean, the British Isles, Europe, Africa, and even on cruise ships and online casinos worldwide. Its installed base is over 6,000 gaming tables in more than 600 casinos, which solidifies its position as the largest independent provider of proprietary casino table games globally.
Galaxy Gaming’s Systems are versatile, electronic bonusing platforms with multiple configurations to enable operators to offer real-time progressive jackpots, daily jackpots, and promotions. Configurations include a single stand-alone jackpot and jackpots linked together on identical games, as well as different game-types with a common triggering event. Additionally, multiple casino properties can be linked together with any of these configurations.
The basic components to the Bonus Jackpot System include core casino game content, a bet tabulator system, a TableVision system, and a back-office reporting system. This cohesive system allows for a linking capacity of multiple tables and is configurable for virtually all of Galaxy’s product lineup.
The company’s move into online gaming has seen 750,000 players engage with Galaxy’s iGaming content every month with over 3.5bn bets placed this year.
At G2E Las Vegas it showcased its innovative new table game operating system Sapphire along with brand-new table games including Galaxy Gaming’s Golden Talons and Divine 9 side bets. The Galaxy Operating System (GOS) Sapphire management system features innovative progressive jackpot options, eye-catching Nebula sensors, and groundbreaking digital tracking capabilities.
