France – Fécamp casino to relocate and triple its size
By Phil - 16 May 2021The municipal council of Fécamp, in the Seine-Maritime region of France, has renewed the licence to operate the town’s casino to a subsidiary of the Joa group, the only group to respond to the concession notice launched on May 22, 2019.
The casino was previously operated under the Emerald brand, before being bought by Joa in July 2019. The new concession will begin on November 1.
Mayor of Fécamp, Mrs. Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsback said the licence had ‘a duration of 20 years maximum, 19 years more, a possible additional year.’ The casino currently located on the seafront will move to the port of Fécamp, Chaussée Gayant. The construction of the building is the responsibility of the operator, with a certain number of constraints that have been set to bring it into line with the spa hotel project and the fisheries museum.
The new casino will be located in the place of the old customs building, which has been unoccupied for ten years. It will occupy a floor area of 2,400 m2, up from 890 m2 at the current casino.
“It is an investment for the delegate estimated between E7m and E8m, added the mayor of Fécamp who mentioned an opening in February 2024, after 14 to 17 months of work. During these, the current establishment will remain open. The municipal levy will be 13 to 15 per cent. And the municipality will become the owner of the building of the new casino at the end of the concession.
