France – Relocation of Pau casino sees Tranchant reverse losing trend

By - 25 November 2019

French casino group Tranchant has heralded the relocation of its Pau casino licence in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France a huge success with attendance up by 61.34 per cent in the second half of the year.

The casino moved from its previous downtown location, in the Beaumont Palace, north of the city, to a brand new building, on the outskirts of the city, on the edge of the Pau ring road at a cost of €11m at the start of May. Between May and October, the casino’s GGR increased by 40.87 per cent, from €4.3m to just over €6m.

For the year as a whole, Casino de Pau generated revenues of €8.6m down 6.65 per cent, illustrating the trend that the location has reversed. The Tranchant plans to increase the number of slot machines at the venue from 100 currently to 120 in December.
