France – Société Française des Casinos back up to pre pandemic levels
By Phil - 1 August 2022
Whilst profitability remains restricted by the constraints linked to the health crisis, French casino group, Société Française des Casinos (SFC) enjoyed an encouraging first half with turnover of €9m comparable to that of 2018/2019.
The first half of 2021-2022, from November 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022, marks the greenshoots of recovery, with casinos open to all the period. Despite this context, the SFC recorded a gross turnover of € .969m over the period, which is equivalent to the level of activity recorded in the first quarter of 2018-2019, before the crisis. EBITDA, which amounted to €1.169m, demonstrates the ‘rigorous control of the group’s operating expenses’ as well as ‘its resilience in emerging from the crisis.’
After taking financial charges and tax into account, the SFC announces a net half-year result of €874,000.
The group confirmed it was in a position for new investments to be undertaken to enrich the game offer. “In this context, the group relies on the proven know-how of its new shareholder, the Casigrangi group, who owns 81.2 per cent of the capital,” SFC explained.
