Genting to expand Southampton casino in readiness for increased slot numbers and sports betting

Genting Casino has been given the nod to expand its Southampton casino with a plan to use the first and second floors of the grade II-listed Terminus House into a new gaming floor and bar on the first floor, and staff space on the second floor.
The government recently announced plans to allow smaller land-based casinos to increase their quota of machines and add sports betting. The expansion will also add 10 jobs to the casino.
The operator said: “The development proposals will provide an increased and improved space for the existing casino, as well as enhanced staff facilities and staff offices. The development proposal will also preserve the listed building by returning the building to full occupation and in a commercially viable use, and through the internal alterations which will help sustain the longevity of the building fabric.”
